Investigations handles lab and imaging work from the order to the released result.

Lab​

  • Orders from clinics, wards and walk-in requests
  • Specimens, with collection and chain of custody
  • Results entered or received from analysers, with reference ranges
  • Approval before release, by a person who holds the approval permission
  • Setup of tests, panels and their pricing

Imaging​

  • Orders and scheduling
  • Reports written against the study
  • Setup of modalities and examinations

Partner network​

A facility can send work to partner labs and imaging centres and receive results back, with a network worklist to track what is outstanding.

FHIR​

Every lab and imaging order can be expressed as FHIR ServiceRequest, Observation and DiagnosticReport resources, and published to a FHIR server. See FHIR exchange.
